Update: Saturday 16 Mar

I think, instead of always talking about food when I post, I should just give myself one day a week when I'm allowed to write about food and save everything for that day… This sounds like a great idea. Sundays can be "these are the fun things I cooked this week" days… Starting after this weekend, I guess, because it's too late and I'm going to tell you of the last two days.

Thursday, an online friend from Berlin stopped by in The Hague on her way home from Brussels to meet up with Jenn and me. So Thursday I went to the beach with her and her boyfriend until Jenn got done with class, then we went to this pizza place in the center called VIP (Very Italian Pizza) and discovered that their pizzas are even cheaper than Vapiano's pizzas. Okay, not all of the pizzas are cheaper, but considering that Jenn and I are both vegetarian, the pizzas are cheaper. The only problem I had with that pizza was that the sauce gave me heartburn; I rarely get heartburn anymore so that was a sad moment. I think I could probably suffer through heartburn every once in a while for a cheap meal out though. When we asked for the check, this girl's boyfriend insisted on paying for us. I kind of anticipated that, she had told me before that he likes to pay because he is Swiss and has a lot of money to throw around. Whatever, fine with me. My bank account is pretty low this month…

They were here still yesterday as well, so I dragged them to the market where boyfriend insisted on buying the cheese that I needed, and they wanted to wander around the food section for a while because they thought it was just as cool as I think it is. I invited them back to my apartment for dinner that night. I made salsa and got a couple avocados and some sour cream, and they bought nacho chips and the market cheese, of course. So Jenn and I made nachos for them and they were delicious. Then we went and saw that new Disney IMAX 3D movie, Oz the Great and Powerful. Then they left. To Amsterdam, and then to catch a plane to Berlin.

I have basically no classes this week, even though I'm supposed to. All of my teachers have cancelled class, which is fun and stuff. I guess it just means I have time to study before exams, which are the following week. I don't have that many exams this term, though. I do have an excel exam which is self-study and I haven't started to look at it, so maybe that's what I'll be doing this week… Yay!
